Mughal Restaurant A Legacy of Royal Flavours

Our story

A legacy of royal flavours

A long-established, family-run restaurant on Washway Road, cooking the regional food of India and Bangladesh for the people of Sale.

India and Bangladesh

Alongside the dishes you would expect, the kitchen cooks Bangladeshi regional food — the balti with Telaphia, the Achari and Badhunia dishes, the Modhu specials. It is a wider range than most kitchens attempt.

Cooked to order

Every dish starts when you order it, not before. It is the slower way to run a kitchen, and it is why the heat and seasoning of a dish can be set to how you like it rather than how the pan was already made.

The chef’s own recipes

The House Specials and Chef’s Specialities are the kitchen’s own work, not standard curry-house fare. The Modhu dishes — tandoori sauce, honey and a recipe the chef keeps to himself — are the clearest example.

Family-run

The restaurant is owned and run by the same family, in the kitchen and front of house. When something is not right, the people who can fix it are the people in the room.

Dining in

A room built for an occasion

Birthdays, anniversaries, or a table of friends on a Friday night — the restaurant is a comfortable room for a long meal, and we are glad to take bookings for larger parties. If you are planning something, call us and we will help you get it right.
